sex? Affection?

In our grandparents time period, some couples slept in separate beds, some in the same bed, and others slept in separate rooms. My grandmother and grandfather had relations every Friday night. With schedules like they are now, full time jobs and sometimes 2-3 jobs, taking care of children, household, and socializing, when can a couple have relations? How often can they have relations?
In our  grandparents era I often wonder how many sex positions did they have to choose from.
Today we have the internet, blogs, and magazine articles to read and look at different positions. We can research how they will make us feel. We have stores that we can purchase sex toys and outfits to role play. Was their sex life boring? Is our sex life wild?   Is sex important? Are there other ways to make love? Did our grandparents have fore play? Is foreplay needed ? There is so much to consider when it comes to showing affection to your spouse. Some people like touch some people don't like clinginess and want to miss their spouse.
